About

The Competence Network Heart Failure (CNHF) is one of the top addresses for cardiology research.

The interdisciplinary network which is an association of German universities conducts research into all aspects of heart failure. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research since 2003 and maintains project offices at eleven locations across Germany.

Through its highly varied project work, the CNHF has been able to gain pioneering insights into the underlying mechanisms of heart failure and develop new therapy perspectives. It manages Europe’s largest biomaterial bank and clinical database devoted to heart failure and forms part of an international study network that enables it to carry out large-scale clinical studies.

The CNHF has set itself the goal of serving as a versatile partner to the heart failure research community, especially by making its resources available to collaborative projects between academic and industrial research groups.
